Ko-fa is a peer-to-peer marketplace that connects suburban neighbors for rentals and services. You can rent items like tools, electronics, and equipment from people in your area, or book services like handyman work, cleaning, and lawn care.

Think of it as Airbnb for everything in your neighborhood - from power tools to pet sitting.

Getting started is easy:

• Download the Ko-fa app (coming soon to iOS and Android)
• Create your profile with basic information
• Browse available items and services in your area
• Start renting or list your own items to earn money

We're launching first in select Midwest suburbs including Cleveland, Detroit, and Chicago areas. Sign up for early access to be notified when Ko-fa becomes available in your neighborhood.

We're rapidly expanding to new areas based on user demand.

Ko-fa charges a 10% service fee to both renters and providers for each transaction. This means:

• If you rent a $50 power drill, you pay $55 total
• The owner or service provider also pays a service fee

This fee covers secure payments, customer support, and platform maintenance.

All payments are processed securely through Stripe:

• Payment is authorized when you book a rental or service
• Funds are held securely until the transaction is completed
• Providers receive payment after successful completion
• Refunds are processed for valid disputes

We never store your credit card information - everything is handled by Stripe's secure payment system.

Providers typically receive payment within 24-48 hours after successful transaction completion. Payment timing depends on:

• Successful item return (for rentals)
• Service completion confirmation
• No disputes raised by the renter

Ko-fa has multiple trust and safety features:

• ID Verification: Optional but encouraged - verified users get special badges
• Reviews & Ratings: See feedback from real neighbors
• Profile Information: View user profiles and rental history
• Secure Messaging: Communicate safely through the app
• Community Guidelines: Clear rules for respectful interaction

Ko-fa doesn't provide insurance coverage. We are working with partner for coverages. In the future we plan to cover:

• Property damage during covered activities
• Liability protection for providers
• Coverage for accidents during legitimate platform use

Note: Coverage has specific terms and exclusions. Users should maintain their own personal property insurance.

If issues arise, follow these steps:

• Communicate first: Try to resolve directly with the other user
• Contact support: Reach out through the app for assistance
• File a dispute: Use our formal dispute resolution process
• Report safety issues: Immediately report any safety concerns

Our support team responds within 24-48 hours to help resolve issues fairly.
